It is with a great sense of pride that the Mighty Layout Boys LLC can offer what we believe to be the finest design in layout boats. Our boat is derived from the Lake Erie style of boats. Small one man boats that could withstand the punishing effect of wind, waves, and currents common to Lake Erie and the rivers that feed it and nearby Lake St. Clair. As with any watercraft, common sense and safe water use practices are of the utmost importance.

The quality of workmanship is second to none. Our Manufacturing facility is capable of producing the quantity and quality of boats we expect to be called upon to produce. Some companies ask you to wait a year or more before they're ready to ship your layout. Not the Mighty Layout Boys. We keep sufficient boats in stock to meet expected demand. We can ship your boat today.

Specifications:
The dimensions of the boat are 10 feet long by 50 inches wide. The roomy cockpit area is 78" long by 26" wide on the fore end and 22" wide on the aft end.
The boat weighs 80 lbs, and comes complete with spray shield and backrest. The strength of the boat comes from the modern materials used and the boat's arcing design and multiple radii. Our Mighty Layout Boat has been U.S. Coast Guard Certified for a maximum rating of 1 person, or 258 lbs, or a maximum weight of 287 lbs, for 1 person, and gear.
All hardware is stainless steel. There are a pair of eyebolts on the upwind underside of the cockpit for securing an anchor or anchors, and a single eyebolt on the underside of the bow. There is also a deck cleat on the bow (downwind) side of the boat for securing the bow anchor line.
The interior of the boat is equipped with flotation foam both fore and aft for positive flotation. Shelves are provided on either side of the cockpit for shells, gloves, or anything the Waterfowler might need to carry into the boat.
The color selected for the boat is a granite gray color that best suits most open water conditions.
Due to the boat's light weight, it is recommended that the boat be transported both to and from the hunting grounds across the gunwales of the tender boat. Another option is to mount a bracket similar to a ski bar on the back of the tender boat, and by pulling up on a rope that you attach to the anchor bridle and tying it off to the bracket, you hoist the bow of the layout boat up out of the water.

The "Mighty Layout Boat" brings a whole new dimension to the waterfowler who has used a shore blind or boat blind. Getting out to the ducks and geese in virtually total concealment will ensure clean kills as most shots will occur inside of 25 yards. If you have felt the need to buy bigger and more costly alternatives to 2 3/4" steel shot in 12 gauge light loads, you haven't experienced layout boat hunting.
Another area where the layout boat is growing in popularity is in gunning flooded fields. Very soon we will offer an option that will blend in nicely in flooded grain and fallow fields as well. Here, the hunter can put a couple of sacks full of decoys in the cockpit with him, and pole the boat out to the hunting grounds. Other options are planned for regularly bringing geese to bag. Optional colors can be specified for field applications.
In all, you will enter the next realm in duck and goose hunting. Decoying flocks of hundreds of birds literally close enough to touch are familiar stories among the fraternity of layout boat hunters. To borrow a phrase from the Star Trek episodes; "To boldly go where no one has gone before" would aptly describe layout boat gunning. Think of all the missed opportunities you have experienced because the ducks and geese congregated offshore and you were confined to the shoreline.
Join the fraternity and see what the Mighty Layout Boys are all about.
